The Layout of a Master Bedroom

The layouts of a master bedroom can be quite varied, depending on how much space you have and the things that you want to be included. You can either go with a simple layout or an elaborate one with walk-in closets and additional furniture. But it goes without saying that the more space you have, the more elaborate you can make your master bedroom. Each of these can be arranged in different ways.

What to Keep in Mind While Designing a Layout

The most important thing you need to keep in mind when you’re preparing the layout for your bedroom is whether you and your partner do things together during the day. For example, if you have to head out for work early in the morning, you should be able to do it without disturbing your partner in bed. If that is the case, pick a layout that doesn’t make you linger around near the bed when you’re getting ready.

Layouts

Let’s consider three main spaces when designing your master bedroom, the bed, the closet, and the bathroom. Take a look at some of the ideas below.

Layout 1

This is a simple layout where the door opens into the bedroom, and the bathroom and the closet are placed next to each other. There is quite a bit of space at the foot of the bed, where you can include a slim sofa, and on the right side, you could even choose to have a cosy couch for you to rest. The dressing table comes on the left side of the bed.

The advantage of this type of layout is that you don’t waste any space on the and any circulation around the bed is well-handled.

Here is a slightly elaborate version of the master bedroom idea mentioned above. The nook of the room has two cosy couches. If you have enough space, you also include a small table in between for you and your partner to have coffee together while having a lovely conversation. You would, however, need to enter the bedroom again to be able to access the closet. If you wish, you can also have a different kind of door for the closet instead of a sliding door.

Layout 3

In this layout, you can head into the bathroom through the closet. With two different wardrobes, you could separate yours and your partner’s belongings as well. The shower and the WC are also separated in the layout, but you can choose to remove the wall in between as well and turn the bathroom into a bigger area.

Layout 4

This master bedroom idea gives you the liberty to walk through your closet and arrange your things accordingly. At the end of the closet, you could have a dressing table that allows you to complete your look before you head out of your home.

The bathroom is spacious and there is ample space around the bed as well. With a wall behind the bed, you can decorate it with lovely wallpaper or even hang some of your greatest memories.

Layout 5

In this layout, the closet is placed towards the side. You could use the entry from inside the bathroom and then exit from the other door into the rest of your home. The best part of this layout is that your partner is sure to never be disturbed if you have an early morning flight to catch. The other exit in the walk-through closet gives you the option of not stepping back into the bathroom once you are completely ready.

Layout 6

In the layout given above, the closet is elongated and connected directly to the bathroom, giving you ample space to arrange your belongings neatly. The bedroom is kept away from both of them, giving you ample space and a lovely sleep. With the bathroom slightly away from the bed, you don’t have to worry about going to sleep while looking at the bathroom or the WC.

While these are only a few ideas, feel free to modify and rearrange the layouts for your home. Discuss with your designer to change the positioning of the bed, the bathroom, and the closet, according to the space of your master bedroom and your needs. Take a look at other layouts as well and decide upon what suits the best for you.
