Cold Calling for Interior Designers & Reap Profits in the Follow-Up

Module 1 : What is Cold Calling?

Cold calling is the solicitation of business from potential customers who have had no prior contact with the salesperson conducting the call. It is an attempt to convince potential customers to purchase either the salesperson's product or service.

Module 2 : Rules of cold calling?

  • Master the art of cold call efficiency
  • Use strategies that get your prospects talking!
  • Make cold calling a key component of your business development strategy
  • Set more appointments, more appointments = more sales.
  • Follow up!

Module 3 : Getting Started

  • Start with a good call list
  • Research your prospects
  • Just remember : Don't sell your services.

Module 4 : Case Study

Look at one of the live example from Jennifer's Design practice, Learn the Goal behind it, who to Target and the plan of action and finally the result. Learn what does a cold calling email look like and remember the following points.

  1. Tailor the message to the recipient. You need to do your research.
  2. Validate yourself.
  3. Alleviate your audience's pain or give them something they want.
  4. Keep it short, easy, and actionable.
  5. Be appreciative — and a little vulnerable.
  6. Finally, don't use a template.

Module 5 : Follow-Up

After your meeting immediately do the following:

1. Write a handwritten thank you note thanking them for their time and potential to work together.  This shows compassion and that you value their time.

2. Set a reminder to follow up via phone. In your meeting with your prospect give yourself a reason to follow up with them. This could include a link to a specific vendor you were discussing or a piece from your portfolio that you wanted to send virtually to them. Get creative there will always be something to follow up on.

3. Stay positive, you are putting yourself out there and it will lead to client.

More appointments = More potential clients
