Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a rug that didn’t want to be in front of the fireplace on the floor, but on the wall as an art piece. It went to many a fairy godmother software to make this wish come true, but alas, none of them agreed! Then came Neo, which not only granted the little rug’s wish, but also allowed his other rosette friends to follow his lead.
This may be the story of just one rug, but designers everywhere will admit that at some point they wanted software to shift the functionality of products, without ruining the texture, scale or colour. This function in Neo allows for a single product to be used as any times as required in as many ways as possible – from lamps hanging from the ceiling like chandeliers to rosettes and moulding being used for decorative purposes on a wall.
Making products adorn different settings and changing their function, is not a new concept, with interior decorators and designers incorporating super quirky object in a variety of ways, routinely.
In order to replicate this effect in your designs, start by choosing the product you want. (Note: Ensure you are in 3D mode when you do this). Once the product is on your screen, drag it to its now resting spot and drop. To make it change functionality, click on shift while dragging to make it jump surfaces onto walls and ceilings. When you’ve placed it where you want it, you can edit its properties by adding colour and texture, like you would any other component.
And voila, your product is now truly multifunctional!
Then, they lived happily ever after!
